In keeping with the Halloween theme, I went to the post office and picked up my costume for the 32nd Annual White Mountain Milers Half Marathon. Race net proceeds benefit the Gretchen B. Hatch Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The race features a 5K, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and a Hand Cycle Division to choose from.  This year, in addition to a race t-shirt, finisher medals, unlimited race photos by Harrigan Photos, race awards and post-race celebration at Sea Dog Brewing Company, there will raffle cash prizes.  Race Director Vince Vaccaro will be pulling bib numbers from a tumbler for the money; 2-$100 winners, 1-$300 winner, and 1-$500 winner!  Anyone can win, all you need to do is register to run and be there at the finish!  Oh, and don’t forget your Halloween Theme Costume for another prize division, I didn’t.

Register before October 15 to guarantee a race t-shirt.  If you can’t run this year, please volunteer for the race by contacting Christie Girouard at rrgccg@roadrunner.com.  For more info and to register, go to wmmhalf.com.

The Tuesday night running scene at Whitaker Woods is growing with the great weather.  This past week,, K-Dog, aka Kevin Callahan, was there along with Sara Holtby, Joe LaRue, Dave McDermott and Luna, Frank Holmes, and Mark. Join in next Tuesday for informal and fun running with a group at 5:30 PM.  People run or walk 2 or 3 miles.  Hope to see you there!
